As a result of an Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba (IIU), three police officers were charged on November 6, 2024.
Constable Elston Bostock, 47, is charged with four counts of Breach of Trust, Theft Under $5000, Unlawfully in Dwelling House, Obstruct Police Officer and two counts of Obstruct Justice.
Constable Matthew Kadyniuk, 32, is charged with theft Under $5000 and Breach of Trust.
Constable Jonathan Kiazyk, 46, is charged with Breach of Trust, Obstruct Police Officer and Unlawfully in Dwelling House
On May 7, 2024, the Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) had notified the Independent Investigation Unit
of Manitoba (IIU), of an allegation of breach of trust by one of its members. The IIU assumed
jurisdiction of the investigation and requested the assistance of the WPS Professional Standards
Unit to conduct the investigation.
