Saskatoon Police searches for Dakota Halkett, wanted in two stabbings

The Saskatoon Police Service is releasing a photo of Dakota Douglas Halkett.

Halkett is the suspect in two stabbings that occurred in the past week.

The Saskatoon Police Service asks anyone with information on Dakota Halkett’s whereabouts to contact police at 306-975-8300, or submit a tip anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477; do not approach him yourself.

Dakota Douglas Halkett, 24, is the suspect in both stabbings and a warrant has been issued for his arrest. Halkett faces charges relating to aggravated assault, assault, and failure to comply with court ordered conditions.

On September 23, at approximately 11:55 p.m. police were called to the 100 block of Avenue U South for a report of an injured person.

Upon arrival, officers located a female suffering from injuries consistent with a stab wound; she was treated by paramedics and transported to hospital with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

On September 18, at approximately 8:50 a.m. police were called to the 100 block of Avenue T South for a report of an injured person. Initial information stated someone had been stabbed. The suspect fled the scene before police arrival.
