Major Crimes investigating after body found on Sweetgrass First Nation

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes is advising the public of an increased police presence in relation to an ongoing investigation at a residence on Sweetgrass First Nation, Sask.

Policd have confirmed that an adult male was found deceased at a home on September 20, 2024. The next of kin have been notified and Victim Services is providing support.

Investigators say there is no threat to the public in relation to this incident.

Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes, along with with Battlefords RCMP and the Battlefords RCMP Forensic Identification Services will remain in the community for an undetermined amount of time and are asking residents to stay clear of the area. Investigators are conducting interviews and gathering information to develop a clear timeline of events and determine the circumstances surrounding his death.

The Saskatchewan Coroners Service is doing an autopsy.
