Calgary Police are investigating a shooting in the southwest community of Sunalta. Police found a bullet hole in the window of a business.
At about 10 p.m., on Feb. 19, Calgary Police responded to reports of a shooting in the 1900 block of 10 Avenue S.W
Calgary Police say that this was a targeted incident. Investigators have reviewed CCTV and have interviewed witnesses and continue to ask individuals who have yet to speak with police to come forward.
“The level of violence and blatant disregard for public safety displayed during this incident will not be tolerated,” says Staff Sgt. Kurt Jacobs of the District 1 General Investigations Unit.
“While this incident was targeted, the safety of innocent bystanders was put at risk on Monday, and we know many Calgarians are also alarmed. We’ve dedicated significant resources from across our Service to investigate this shooting and to hold the offenders accountable.”
Addressing gun violence continues to be a priority, say Calgary Police.
“Our efforts to address gun violence rely on strong community support.”
