On Sept. 22, 2025, Bonnyville RCMP initiated an investigation into unlawful firearms possession. With the assistance of EAD CRU, a search warrant was obtained and executed at a residence in the area of Moose Lake Drive. During the search, police located:
- 820 grams of suspected cocaine;
- 25 grams of suspected methamphetamine;
- Prescription pills;
- A stolen 9mm SIG handgun.
45-year-old Jeffery Albert a resident of Bonnyville has been charged with;
- Possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking,
- Possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking,
- Possession of stolen property,
- Possession of a weapon obtained by crime,
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm,
- Possession of a firearm knowing possession of unauthorized,
- Possession of a restricted firearm with ammunition,
- Careless use of a firearms
- Transfer a firearm without authority.
Albert was taken before a Justice of the Peace and remanded into custody with his next court date set for Sept. 29, 2025 at the Albert Court of Justice in Lac La Biche.
