On Aug. 27, the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) Alberta Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit, in partnership with the Fort Macleod RCMP, executed a search warrant at a residence in the community. As a result, Jerry Lee Thompson (52) was arrested and charged with the following:
- Child Pornography – Transmits, makes available, distributes or sells
- Child Pornography – Possession
- Child Pornography – Accessing
- Failing to comply with a court order
Jerry Thompson has been investigated and charged by ALERT ICE in the past for similar offences and was bound by court ordered release conditions related to those previous charges at the time of this search warrant. Thompson now remains in custody and his next scheduled court appearance is Sept. 3, 2025.
