Two men were killed in separate attacks, bringing Montreal’s homicide count to three for 2025.
On Feb. 2, in the Côte-des-Neiges—Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough, a 55-year-old man was shot near the intersection of St-Jacques St. and Beaconsfield Ave.
Less than 30 minutes later, there was a second attack in the borough of Villeray—Saint-Michel—Parc-Extension, where a man was fatally stabbed inside a home.
Nearby residents told reporters the area has attracted people involved in criminal activity. In 2019, Toni Magi, tied to Montreal mafia boss Vito Rizzuto, was shot and killed at the same intersection.
