A 31-year-old man was struck and killed while riding his bicycle around noon on Dec. 1 in the area of 156 Street and 107 Avenue. Edmonton Police are now searching for the suspect vehicle, which is a larger black Lincoln SUV.
The vehicle was reportedly travelling southbound in the alleyway behind the business before it turned into the parking lot and struck the cyclist. Following the collision, the SUV immediately fled the scene northbound in the same alleyway.
EMS responded, treated and took the man to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
EPS Major Collision Investigations Section (MCIS) is now investigating and continues to search for the SUV and driver.
Investigators are asking any witnesses to please contact the police. Likewise, anyone with dash camera or home security footage that was active between 12 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. Dec. 1 in the areas of 152 Street to 156 Street and 107 Avenue to 110 Avenue is asked to please contact the EPS as soon as possible.
