RCMP arrested two people and recovered 21 stolen vehicles, including motorcycles, dirt bikes, trailers, trucks, SUV’s, a boat, and 10 firearms after police raided a property in Clearwater County on April 10.
Mac Smith, 41, of Clearwater County, and April Sanford, 39, of Rocky Mountain House now face numerous charges.
Smith and Sanford are charged with four counts of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, five counts of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. Smith was additionally charged with possession of a weapon obtained by crime, and failing to comply with a probation order.
Sanford was remanded in custody and appears next in Alberta Court of Justice in Rocky Mountain House on May 1.
Smith was released following a Judicial Interim Release Hearing and is scheduled to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Rocky Mountain House on May 1.
As part of the property crime investigations within the city of Red Deer, Red Deer RCMP Crime Reduction Team with the assistance of the Emergency Response Team, Central Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit, Auto Theft South, and officers from Rocky Mountain House detachment executed the search warrant.
