AGLC Tobacco Enforcement Team and Bashaw RCMP team up to execute warrant Gas Plus in Alix

A search of the business located;
- 70 cartons of contraband cigarettes,
- 54 rolls and 67 tins of contraband nicotine pouches.
- 8 prohibited collapsible batons
The retail value of the contraband tobacco and nicotine totaled $17,243.30 with total lost taxes of $9,730.29.
37-year-old Adenin Zain Ul, 31-year-old Ronak Rajeshbhai Patni and 38-year-old Sanjeet Kumar individuals have been charged with 14 different offences including:
- Possession of unstamped cigarettes;
- Fraud;
- Possession of a prohibited weapon;
- 2 offences under the Tobacco and Vaping Products Act;
- 2 offences under the Excise Act;
- 3 offences under the Alberta Tobacco Tax Act;
- Unlawful importation of Nicotine under the Customs Act;
- 3 offences under the Food and Drugs Act.
