Warrants have been issued for the arrest of Cody Smith
On Sept. 15, 2025, Cochrane RCMP were called after a local resident discovered a suspicious package outside their residence. Upon examination, the package was found to contain cocaine and fentanyl.
The Cochrane RCMP’s Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) initiated an investigation that led to the identification of the origin of the package. On Sept. 25, 2025, with assistance from the RCMP Emergency Response Team (ERT), RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence in the Heritage Hills community of Cochrane.
As a result of the investigation, police seized more than 3.6 kilograms of drugs, with an approximate value over $300,000, along with a quantity of Canadian currency.

Warrants have been issued for the arrest of Cody Smith (36), a resident of Cochrane. The charges include:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Cocaine;
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Fentanyl;
- Possession of Cocaine;
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000.
